Last night Neil Totton and his friends organized another great concert – Living Proof 2 – to remind us that every hour of every day four people die of suicide. One every fifteen minutes. And every minute, one person attempts suicide.
As the mother of a suicide victim, and the Founder of Get Your Wellness On, I was invited to attend and say a few words. Thank you Neil for inviting me and giving me the chance to continue raising the volume on the subject of suicide.
Thank you also to all the wonderful artists and everyone who worked hard to organize another amazing concert about love, freedom, acceptance and remembrance. Another big thank you goes to Tommy Greco, the proprietor of the Ritz Club in Manhattan West 49th street, for making his club available
I leave you with the words that were printed at the top of last night’s program by recording artist Ultra Nate:
“YOU might not ever think that what you do makes a difference, but if only you try, YOU might save someone’s life.”
The artists in order of appearance: Neil Totton, Wendy Fox, Dane Joseph, Danyelle Williamson, Mila Jamm, Avery Ragsdale, Adina Allen, Paul Alexander, Dionne Figgins, Adam Joseph, Lea Lorien, Mykal Kilgore.
The Band: Trevor Allen, Raymond Cleveland, Jared Jacobs
